The American state of Alabama's north-central region is where Birmingham is located. It was founded in 1871 as a result of the intersection of two railway lines close to one of the richest mineral reserves in the world.

Birmingham has remained a city constructed by and for builders, whether it is the thriving start-up scene of today or the prosperous steel mills of the past. The resilient nature of our city is supported by the same steel that initially propelled our economy, and we continue to advance by developing and coming up with novel ideas to improve both the quality of life for our citizens and visitors.
