Atlantic County in New Jersey is host to the seaside resort city of Atlantic City, also referred to as A.C. The American version of Monopoly, which has a number of street names and places from Atlantic City, was inspired by it. The famous Boardwalk in Atlantic City began to be constructed in 1870, and ever since, it has served as a representation of America.
Together including Wildwood, North Wildwood, Wildwood Crest, and the Strathmere area of Upper Township, Atlantic City is one of the five municipalities—and the only one outside of Cape May County—that allows unlimited public access to coastal beaches that are guarded by lifeguards.
